Presented by the Kappa Foundation of Prince George’s County, Inc., over 120 golfers enjoyed a day on the fairway at Oak Creek Golf Club to embrace kindship and brotherly upliftment. With 234 guests present for the golf match and luncheon, the day was filled with wonderfully blessed weather, community pride, and philanthropic spirits.
The third time was a charm, with exclusive automotive title sponsor Cadillac leading the way of contributing partners as they profiled the all-electric Cadillac LYRIQ on the grounds for all to enjoy and experience. In fact, most attendees shared intimate and memorable Cadillac stories including Leon Walker’s wife, who recalled his lifetime love of the brand through ownership of five of the luxury automaker’s vehicles. Cadillac was joined by an array of associate partners such as UBS Wealth Management, Automotive Rhythms, Starbucks, American Diabetes Association, Golf Galaxy, and State Farm, to name a few. Moreover, lucky winners received impressive luxury items in their raffle prize winnings.
Attendees enjoyed intimate closeness with the 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ and its distinctive appeal. This EV SUV stole the show as nearly everyone politely asked, “Can I take it home?” Starting under $60K, the 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ offers over 300 miles of Cadillac estimated electric range, a 33” diagonal advanced LED display, Google built-in, available Super Cruise, an AKG Studio 19-speaker audio system with headrest speakers, Digital Key digital vehicle access, and either 20” split 6-spoke alloy wheels or optional 22” dynamic split-spoke Reverse Rim alloy rims. To move the 340-horsepower RWD vehicle, a 12-module, 100-kilowatt-hour battery pack and Ultium Platform are at your disposal. Owners can restore 76 miles of energy in about 10 minutes at DC fast charging stations. To learn more, visit cadillac.com/electric/lyriq.

As one of his most notable fundraising ventures, Brother Walker created and implemented the Chapter’s golf tournament in the late 1980s to raise funds and support the organization’s many fundraising ventures. His beautiful family, as well as the field of golfers included Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, dignitary Eastern Province Polemarch, Richard B. Mattox, Charles E. Exum Jr., Maryland State Senator Ronald L. Watson, Ph.D., and a guest speaker appearance from Executive Director of the American Diabetes Association Darryl Heggans who shared his heartfelt perspective on the organization’s mission to cure Diabetes.
