Ford Bronco Heritage Limited Edition Looks Back

Following the revival of the beloved Ford Bronco in 2021, the Heritage Limited edition was unveiled last year, paying homage to the original Bronco. Limited to just 1,966 models, a nod to the debut year of the first Bronco, this special edition carries forward the legacy of this iconic vehicle.

The 2023 Ford Bronco continues the legacy, offering special editions across its lineup, including two- and four-door models. The Bronco Heritage Edition stands out for its off-road prowess and rugged design, blending classic styling cues with modern technology and features.

Distinctive two-tone paint schemes featuring Oxford White accents and a modular hardtop roof adorn the two- and four-door Heritage models. The Oxford White grille with Race Red “Ford” lettering, 17-inch aluminum heritage wheels, and body side stripe enhance the retro-inspired appearance.

The Heritage Limited variant, which I had the opportunity to test, comes in Robin’s Egg Blue, reminiscent of the classic Arcadian Blue from 1966. Yellowstone Metallic and Peak Blue were also planned for future model years, further embracing Bronco’s heritage.

Power: Under the hood, the Heritage Limited Edition boasts impressive performance, with a 2.7-liter six-cylinder engine delivering 315 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. For even greater capability, the Badlands trim offers a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine with up to 330 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

On the road, the Bronco impressed me with precise steering and handling despite its off-road focus. The 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine provided ample power, while its high clearance and advanced off-road features ensured it could easily tackle any terrain. The Bronco is ready for adventure with features like 35-inch mud-terrain tires, electronic locking differentials, and impressive approach and departure angles.

Inside, the Bronco offers a rugged yet comfortable cabin, with options for rubberized flooring and marine-grade vinyl upholstery. The ample space, even in the two-door model, comfortably accommodates adults in the back seat, with additional room in the four-door variant.

Price: The 2023 Ford Bronco starts at $47,890 and goes up to $71K for the top-of-line Heritage Limited model that offers a distinctive blend of heritage-inspired design and modern capability. Whether conquering trails or cruising the streets, the Heritage Edition is a standout choice for those seeking a unique SUV experience.

Fuel Economy: The fuel economy rating for the 2023 four-door Heritage Limited is below average compared to other small-size SUVs. The EPA rates the Bronco Heritage Limited at 17 city/17 highway mpg.
